Text messaging terms and conditions

These terms apply to the text messaging (SMS) program operated by Sun City Church.
Program description
Sun City Church sends text messages to volunteers, team members, and staff about the ministries they participate in. Messages may include rehearsal times and changes, service and event schedules, availability and block-out requests, and reminders for meetings you are part of. This is operational communication for people already serving on a team. It is not a marketing or fundraising program.
How you join
You are included when you provide your mobile phone number to Sun City Church (on a team application form, in your own profile in our church management system, or directly to a ministry leader) in connection with joining a ministry team or volunteer role. You receive messages only for the teams and ministries you belong to.
How you sign up
When you join a ministry team at Sun City Church, the team application (on paper or online) includes this checkbox:
I agree to receive text messages from Sun City Church about the ministry team I serve on. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
You must check that box and provide your mobile number to receive messages. Consent is collected from each person individually at signup. Sun City Church does not buy, rent, or obtain phone numbers from any third party.
Sun City Church does not operate a text-to-join keyword program. You will never be added by texting us.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies with the schedule of the team you serve on. Most participants receive a small number of messages per month.
Cost
Sun City Church does not charge for these messages. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan and carrier.
How to stop receiving messages
Reply STOP to any message to be removed. You will receive one confirmation message and no further messages after that. You may also ask any staff member or ministry leader to remove your number, or contact us using the information below. Requests to stop are honored however they are worded.
To resume messages after opting out, reply START.

Supported carriers
Messages are supported on major U.S. wireless carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
Your information is handled according to our Privacy Policy. No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
