It can feel intimidating to visit a new church! What do you wear? Where do you park? What are your kids going to do? We understand the thoughts you might have when visiting a new church, so we want you to feel comfortable from the start.
What to expect at Sun City Church
At Sun City Church, you’ll find a life-giving community designed to help you encounter God, build lasting relationships, and step into the God-given purpose for your life.
What are services like?
Each service begins with worship music and a short video explaining some of what’s going on in our church community. One of our pastors or leaders will then share a hope-filled and relevant message, followed by a time of reflection and response. We usually wrap up around 75 minutes. We try to keep things casual and authentic, so don’t worry about dressing fancy - most people wear jeans, including the pastors. Expect to be greeted by friendly people that genuinely care. Whether you’re attending for the first time or looking for a place to belong, we want your visit to be relaxed and welcoming.
What about my kids?
We are passionate about providing an energetic, faith-filled service that is tailor-made for your kids. When you check your kids into Sun City Kids, they’ll have a safe, clean, and fun environment where they can learn to love Jesus with all their hearts. All of our Sun City Kids team are background checked and equipped for ministry to children. When you arrive on Sunday, one of our Kids Team will print off tags for each of your children at the Check-In Kiosk before showing them where their classes are. To find out more and register your child, visit our Kids page.
What is the culture like?
Often people say they walk through our doors and feel right at home. Our teams are intentionally creating an environment where anyone can feel welcomed. This is why you’ll be greeted at the doors, grab a cup of coffee or tea, and have the opportunity to connect personally with a team member at various times in our services. We’re serious about loving God and loving people, but we have a lot of fun while doing both!
What is the worship like?
Our songs are current, upbeat, and celebratory in nature, similar to what you might hear on a Christian radio station. We like to worship God with high-energy music, so if you have sensitive ears, our ushers can help you sit in the right spot or grab you a pair of earplugs. Worship is more than entertainment. It is our expression of love and gratitude to God, so we’re pretty passionate and intentional about it.
Can’t Make it In-Person? Join Us Online!
Not knowing where to go or what to do can be stressful.
If you haven’t been to church in awhile, or if you aren’t used to a nondenominational church, we want you to feel comfortable from the moment you turn into the parking lot. Here’s the inside scoop to prepare for your first visit to Sun City Church:
What’s the Feel?
Our community is known for its authenticity and genuine care. When you join us, you’re sure to feel welcome, whether you’re attending for the first time or looking for a place to belong.
What should I wear?
Most people wear jeans and dress casually at our church, including the pastors.
How long is the service?
We have two gatherings on Sunday morning: at 9:15am and 11am. Each service is about one hour and fifteen minutes long.
What kind of music do you play?
Our songs are current, upbeat, and celebratory in nature, similar to what you might hear on a Christian radio station. We like to worship God with high-energy music, so if you have sensitive ears, our ushers can help you sit in the right spot or grab you a pair of earplugs.
IS THERE LITURGY I SHOULD BE READY TO RECITE?
Nope! You won’t be unsure as to what to do or say at any point during our service. After a song of worship, our pastors will introduce themselves and provide simple instructions towards the beginning of the meeting. We will sing a few more songs (with words on the screen), and hear a message from Scripture, preached by one of the leaders.

How do I meet people or get involved?
Our Next Steps class was created to help you get the answers you are looking for about who we are, what we believe, and how to get involved. The first class starts every Sunday at 12:00pm, right after our second service. Lunch and childcare is provided. If you can’t make it in person, an online class is also available.
Do you have small groups?
Yes! We have three semesters of small groups that meet throughout the Spokane area. In these groups, we gather around an activity or topic to encourage each other and help one another grow in our faith. You can browse our Small Group Directory and join one today.
