This past week was big for us. We welcomed two more families who moved over from the Treasure Valley to help us launch Sun City Church. And we also hosted two events… a community S’more Roast and a Sun City Church Meet Up. Both of them went amazing, better than we could have imagined.

The S’more Roast was a way for us to bless the community and meet some new people. We used the clubhouse at a local apartment complex and invited all the tenants to a free event. Empty planter boxes housed small butane burners nestled in river rock. A fun menu encouraged our guests to try some new s’more recipes. And the kids were invited to participate in a scavenger hunt while their parents visited. More people than we were expecting came out for the event and stayed to visit with various members of our launch team. It was a big win for us.

We also hosted a Sun City Church Meet Up. Our goal was to meet people face to face that we have connected with through social media and tell them a little more about who we are. Over 20 adults and 13 kids came out for it! The night was spent talking and getting to know each other with a short talk from us on the vision for Sun City Church.  People were still socializing long after the sun had faded from the sky. And we went home excited, full of hope for the future, and thankful that God has invited us into this great journey of starting Sun City Church.

If you were out of town or couldn’t make our last Meet Up, we want to invite you to our next one. It is Sunday, August 17th from 6:30-8pm at the Riverhouse Apartment Clubhouse. Don’t worry…you aren’t committing to anything. It is just an informal gathering to give you the opportunity to meet us and learn more about who God has called us to be.

You can email if you have any questions.
